Just wondering what the opinion was here. I was thinking of using some to make an entry tool, like the spec plus model, and maybe a machete or something. I know Razorback Knives has some models with it, but I hardly see it discussed. Any opinions/experience is appreciated.

If you want a bulletproof tough ass steel, S7 is the way to go. IMO, it's best suited for large camp knives that will see hard use.

Do you harden your own? At one time I think you mentioned you were sending them to Texas Knifemaker Supply, before you got your own oven. How is the edge holding at the hardness you get the "bulletproof" toughness? I've been thinking of making a super tough machete, or maybe a bowie w/ a 12" or so blade. It would take near forever with my equipment, but at the rate I work, a 2" kiridashi w/ cord wrap handle take 2-3 months.
