I have never seen one in ATS-34, but I've owned 2 in AUS-8. One plain edge and one half serrated. In my opinion they are decent inexpensive plain Jane knives, although I would have liked to see a metal pocket clip on them.

Someone just got their Smokey Mountain catalog.

I wish !

For some reason, I get my SMKW catalogs three or four days later than most of you guys, thereby missing out on some great deals (the CRKT Apache's come to mind). I just spotted the Speedster on the website and am trying to get a leg up. Any other good deals there?

getting back to the point...

Does NOBODY have one of these? Are they that crappy, or just unpopular?

In my opinion they perform well for an inexpensive knife. The are far from "state of the art," however, you get what you pay for. Personally, if I were to choose a Zytel handled, one hand opening lockback, I would rather go with a Spyderco. Still, the Meyerco Speedster makes a good gift for the average knife user. Quality wise, I would say it's comparable to a Buck Bucklite or Schrade Switch-clip folder. I'm not sure why Meyerco has not gained popularity. When they first released the Strut & Cut knife and the Rascal, I have to say thet were pretty crappy. I understand that the Big Rascal and the new Stingray have been improved, but I've yet to check them out.
