Having recently gotten into hiking and camping, I have been trying to build up my gear as money permits. I have a large military surplus Alice pack with frame to use for camping for now but wanted a lighter but still sturdy pack for hiking. I have been lusting over one of the Maxpedition Condor II packs for awhile but couldn't justify the price right now. Well over the weekend I was at a local flea market and ran across an older but brand new German Ranger mountain rucksack for $15.00.

In the main compartment is a seperate pouch similar to the Alice pack but deeper. I am wanting to install a water bladder with a drinking tube. Is there a way it can be retofit? I haven't used one before so I am not sure how they attach. Any insight you guys could give me would be appreciated.

Also has anyone used this pack before?

I got one of the german ranger packs. Its well build and would last you a very long time. Its not the best pack out there the shoulder pads are not the best.. But i carried over 30lb of rocks for a few miles, with no problems. As for the bladder i guess you can use one in there but its not realy made for it. For the price i think you should get one. For some hikes i rather take this one then my other nicer packs.
