Opinions of the Protech Avalon?

Oh wow it's huge, I never realized that. I bet it's great though, and carries like a much smaller knife. 4.25in blade and 3.7oz is crazy. Protech also does really good Magnacut, 63hrc+. I've even seen 64.8 which is insane. Seems like a banger for $285

Awesome. Has typically excellent Pro-Tech fit & finish, super smooth action, and an old school aesthetic I appreciate with that loooong piercing clip point blade. Despite being a very long knife, it doesn't feel all that large; it carries very nicely.

It seems that there are so few choices these days for folders that have a long (4 inch range) piercing clip point blade.
My favorite style too. A folder with a 4" blade to me is just right for edc. I carry a Benchmade 806 for edc. I really like the Avalon and will probably get one too.
;)

It's not a 4.25" blade and I'm not sure why they keep saying it is. The blade on mine measures about 3.875".

I like it overall. The ergonomics are great and the action is amazingly clicky. It carries well and is light for the size of blade it offers. However, it is way too thick behind the edge and the plunge grind isn't executed very well. If I can remove the thumb studs, I'll be sending it to BGM for a hollow regrind.
