Opinions On Benchmade Barrage

I've been carrying a 580 for the past three years. It is by far the best folder I've ever owned. I use it every day for work. Just a great knife. The only time I don't carry it is at church, and the I have a SAK Cadet in my pocket. I would highly recommend the Barrage.

I love my 586! I replaced the Al and G10 with Ti and CF, it's my dress knife now. I do wish that it had some Spyderco like jimping on the knife for a more positive grip.

Sorry to revive an old thread but where did you get the custom scale replacements if you don't mind me asking? Ti bolsters and carbon fiber scales sounds awesome.

Not a technical knife guy, but I've always carried one for the last 60 years. And I use them. The Barrage was my first Benchmade. The M390 steel impresses me, but again I'm not that technical. I own a two regulars and two minis. One mini has carbon fiber custom scales, one regular is a damascus steel gold class. The blades are rock solid open. I will begin rotating a new Chris Reeve small Sebenza I just bought. Barrage are best knives I have ever owned, but the Sebenza is growing on me. I carry the Barrages weak side so I can use my strong hand to dig out my handgun, but its been pointed out this is dumb.

Why would that be dumb? Sounds pretty logical to me and it is what I do also. One of the reasons I love Benchmades, particularly the Axis-lock, because the design is ambidextrous.

I just recently got a Benchmade Barrage through a trade with a friend. It has some nicks in the blade that'll need to be sharpened out and the tip is slightly broken, but it is not beyond resurrection. I was just wondering what peoples' opinions are on this knife. Goods/bads/in betweens- just searching for some knowledge.
I really don't know a Benchmade knife thats not good. I have quite a few different ones and all have their place. My favorites are the 556 and the bug outs. One of the two are always clipped to my pocket. Both are one-hand knives.
If I had one with chips in the blade I'd send it to Benchmade and see what happens. More than likely you would get a new blade back.

*back-hand slapped* for necrobumping a 7 year old thread

My first NICE knife was a mini-barrage and it was fantastic. I gave it to my brother when I got a mini-Grip. Barrage is a BM icon IMO.
