Opinions on carhartt hooded jacket please.

they are tougher than a coffin nail. Took me about two solid winters just to completely break mine in to where it was nice and soft. Took me about 8 years to kill it. They are a good value. Im also fond of dickies work wear. Comfortable and long wearing without a hefty price tag.

I bought mine a few years ago with some christmas bonus money i got from my job. I paid around $125. for it .Money well spent in my opinion.Mine has the sherpa lining and it hangs down in the back to keep drafts out,no elastic in the waist.Super warm and nice jacket ,i would buy one again in a heartbeat. My 14 Y/O son wears one the same as mine .

I swear by Carrhart jeans- finally wore out a pair I bought 5 years ago. Only reason my jacket doesn't see more use is that its just unecessary most of the time. Don't need much more than my leather or a fleece for day-to-day activities.

Mine is insulated and with a short and long sleeve shirt on underneath it keeps me warm in the winter (Southeast Michigan)

Yes, some of Carrharts products are made overseas. I have worn these and some from stateside. I don' t beat them to death. But they' have all held up quite well over the years. As for hooded tops, I dislike them. They don' t fit well, at least not on my head. Depending on the fabric and its finish, most of them are too stiff to fit around the head properly. More important, I do not like to lose peripheral vision- personal thing. If I know I will need a hooded top for any particular use, I will go with the one with the attachable/ detachable option. Many of Carrharts models have this feature option. If you have problems with the zippers, try running an old wax candle on both set of teeth seperately. Much smoother operation.

Well, since the OP has been banned and won't see this... I'll have to pass on my recc's to the rest of y'all.

I've had a non-hooded Carhart jacket for the last 28 years, and so far... it has held up remarkably well. Wearing it today, in fact.:D

carhartts are awesome ive had mine for a few years! i wouldnt get one with a hood just cus at least for me i have a lot of hoodies and if i wear a hoodie and then a coat with a hood thats just to much for me. just how i am. but they are def worth the money! very warm coats and everyone looks bad ass in a carhartt:D

If you have one what do you think of them. I wanted the one with the hood. Do they hold up and make a good everyday jacket?

I am sitting here in my Carhartt Sierra right now. I love the thing.. it's warm, tough and has a hood. I like this model because the bottom hem is not elasticized.

A bit late to the discussion but I've had good results with hooded jackets and other insulated stuff from Carhart, Berne and Walls.

While I do not own anything Carharrt I do know several people who do own some of their examples and the people really like their clothing and accessories. So I have nothing bad to say about them and they where really popular at the store I worked at before it closed down and even here I see people around town in the jackets so they must work.

I have/had a couple of Carhartts and if you're not looking for a lot of insukation Sears has one on sale for about half the price that actually (I thought) has nicer features (better zipper, Teflon coated fabric, extra pocket)- so far, so good. YMMV

Anything that Carhartt makes is bombproof! Their jackets are very warm and comfy. If you get a jacket with goosedown insulation you might not want to wear it unless it's below about 45 deg., otherwise you'll burn up. The pants are super comfy and tough also. The only pants I wear are Wranglers and Carhartt's, and that goes with most other guys I know. They cost a little more but worth every penny!

I got a Carhartt jacket the otherday and it is amazing, I love how warm it is. The only thing I don't like is how the inside is kind of scratchy.

Yeah, that's the blanket lining. It'll get better as you wear it. I find mine very warm and cozy.

Carhartt makes excellent clothing that will wear almost forever under ordinary conditions. I made my living as a welder for about 40 years and I can tell you that the sleeves and front of a Carhartt jacket will burn up just as quickly as will a Dickies or the other brands but at twice the price. Don't give me any flak about I should have been wearing leather either cause I've worn leather too. :D It's cold in the winter, kind of like taking off your jacket.

Anybody have the Carhartt Waterproof Breathable 3-in-1 Parka? Couldn't find any reviews on this item and wanted to see what people thought.

I can't wear them since they stopped making size 42, 44, 46, etc. and went to large and xlarge. The large is too small and the xlarge too big on me. Anyway, I find them to be way overpriced, I always buy a brand like Key or Walls and they last just as long as the Carhartt does.

I love everything about my carhartt jackets, except the zippers. For some reason they're a pain, and I always fight to get them started. No idea why this happens either. Otherwise awesome product.

Funny you should say that. My sister in law has a vest and loves it apart from a balky zipper. I tried one on in the store today. Know what? The zipper stuck halfway. Looks like a perfectly good zipper though, maybe a little wax on it would help.
