Opinions on CRKT M-16

Keep in mind the M16 has three different blade steels, depending on the model. AUS-6, AUS-8, AUS-118(?)
My best friend liked them, bought four for himself, and gave me a M1602Z. He carried one with aluminum handles and AUS-8 bladesteel on duty for awhile, and was very satisfied with it (he also has the little CF handled one, the spearpoint, and the blue handled "LEO" one).
The one he gave me is very comfortable in the hand, but the flipper interfered with my index finger's placement, and I cut it off (the flipper, not my index finger!).
I've carried it on and off as a beater, since it wasn't going to replace any of my regular carry knives. After what amounts to a few weeks worth of use, it has vertical blade play as a result of the liner having worn, and not having enough "spring" to make it travel across the tang. The design is great, IMO, and while not a huge tanto fan, I really like the blade (other than the AUS-6 steel on mine).
I hope the lock problem mine has shown is not common. Like I said my buddy has four M16s, and the one he carried for several months doesn't have this problem, so maybe it's a fluke.
