falar the thing about guns and knives is of course guns have the distance advantage. So you have to close that distance for the knife to be more effective. Say seven (7) yards and under. Modern Police research has proven a man with a knife (starting at 7 yards) can close in on an officer faster than he can draw his service pistol.
Since you're going to be using your Kukri only in self defense (in close quarters) it can and does do more damage than handguns. Plus it is faster to use under seven (7) yards if you know how. So don't feel "under gunned" with a big knife. They are great for home defense.
