Ive been thinking of picking up one of Robs Short Swords. Need Opinions. Any ideas where to purchase would be helpful as well.
Thanks

I think they are pretty darned good. They aren't what I would call a traditional katana, but they are a darned nice sword. I recently did up a saya for a customer and I was very impressed by the sword. I'll post some pictures tonight, along with a reseller's name (who for some darned reason is skittering just around the edge of my memory).

I picked up a 20 inch Wakizashi from www.888knivesrus.com a few months ago. I consider them a nice americanized verison of a traditional japanese sword. The cord wrapped handle is comfortable and secure. The blade is very sharp, with only minor variances in the grind lines (but then again, it shows that it is hand made). Blade material is A-2. The hollow ground blade may not be as structuraly strong or hold up as well as a traditional style, but considering the price difference- your getting a hell of a short sword.

The blade feels quick and is easily manuverable in enclosed spaces. So far, I have only pruned a few small branches in testing.
With a little extra 550 cord, you can rig up a waist or across the back carry system. Drawing from the behind the back position is possible and the sheath's guard catch secures the Wak for tip-up carry.

The only complaint that I have is the sheath construction. The 4 piece kydex held together by 3 silver screws is not a clean design.
