Opinions On the D'Allara

I own a D'allara and carry it around every day for a long time now.

I think think you are not dissapointed in the knife, you just wanted it to be a different knife all together. A combination of a Manix and a Rescue knife for instance.

I love it and it's never going to leave my side. One of the best knives i've ever owned.

I agree it is a very well made knife at a good price. I do like VG10. Seriously I do like full length spyder edge which is available in the sheep's foot blade model.

It seems that Spyderco has turned away from offering full Spyder edge in favor of combo edge in many of their models especially in their higher priced models.

I used to love combo edge (due to a lack of edge education) but now view it as a function crippling flashy gee look how cool my knife looks frill (you get the worst of both worlds.)

I don't blame Spyderco because they have to pay more attention to what sells better. I see a lot of kids that swear combo edge is the greatest and coolest feature to have on a blade. It seems the more knowlegable crowd unfortanately is in the minority.

I am a fan of a full length Spyder Edge to the point where I will not buy combo edge anymore . A full length plain edge is my second choice in the absence of a full length Spyder Edge.

I don't know if accomodating preferences for full Spyder Edge would be bad for sales. I would like it.

Of course fully serrated vs partial can be veiwed as very subjective and I am sure there may be good reasons others choose partially serrated blades aside from coolness and lack of edge knowlege, so please don't take my above post as either offensive or holy grail.

I just like a lot of teeth on my edge. While combo edges may not offer the best of both worlds, they do offer both, which a non-combo edge will not.

I have one.

Great solid feeling knife.
Just dont count on using the pocket you are carrying it in for anything else.
Pocket HOG.
