A buddy of mine wants a bowie. I can actually make it, blade and all, but I m in the time presss and not have much time for it, so I was looking for a way - whillst browsing the web I found these:

http://www.texasknife.com/vcom/product_info.php?cPath=119_299_307&products_id=173

There is more of generic bowie blades on that page. I was wondering if that wouldnt be cheapo alternative for decent blade, but I would like to hear anyone experience with it, if you have any.

Much appreciated.

Thanks

Jaro

The semi-sharpened swedge is really usefull for striking a firesteel. It throws sparks better than the edge of the spine. although admittedly, my only high carbon blade with a sharpened swedge (puma bowie) has a rounded spine. But it works better than the spine of my other knives.

Put down the blade and step away from the knife kit catalog:eek:
