opinions on this design please (pic)

Bruce, I like the design a lot. I value function over all else.
I like that the point is about midline of the knife. it would
function very well as a hunting tool if it had a three inch blade,
and with the point lower it is safer working in the chest cavity
of a whitetail deer. I would prefer a full flat gring to almost the
spine. Some people do prefer stainless, that's your call.

Thats Fine.
I would hate to think that some of these people out there that like to hold and caress there new knives don't think of them as men:p
Bruce

Thanks Don,I will make a three inch bladed version of this and see how it works.
Gotta make a living Sylvester and if someone wants to order the "S" steel then I will have to make it.
Bruce

Hey bubba I know that, money is money.
Hell I have even used it I just like
my knives carbon & my guns blue.
Just messin with the stainless guys.
When I start building folders I`ll
use that S word.

Me To..
I used to say I wouldn't use it and haven't been asked for it but if that is what it takes to put food on the table for th ekids I will do it.
But the stuff just doesn't like to forge very well:p ;) :p

Bruce,
You got me to thinking, you may have a point. Maybe that's why I like the Coke bottle handles, it does kinda remind you of the shape of a woman. Besides, I have been cut a time or two by a blade for no apparent reason at all! :)

Bruce I like it. It looks as it could even be a hunting knife depending on thickness of blade. Handle is cool. Cory

Bruce, I like it, particularly the handle, looks real comfy. I like the Corian, too, but I bet you'd rather use something natural, wouldn't you? Grinding up to the spine is the right thing to do in my opinion. Nice job, thanks for sharing and good luck with your expanding line!

Hi,
Someone made a good point about having a few lower end knives in the mix with the upper emd.
We got started collecting and now I make because we came to a table where the maker had a few simple models SUPERBLY crafted. We bought one and as our fortunes and tastes were educated we went back and got the $450 ones later on.
Here is a financial idea. My wife collects and what we have done with a few makers has worked out. She picks out a knife and sends $100 a month to the maker until it is paid and the knife is sent. Sometimes it is already made and set aside, other times it is made when payment is complete. A variation of layaway. A thought anyway that ensures that my checkbook always runs on empty.
I have discussed the lower end sells upper end idea with several other makers in the NC Guild and they generally confirm the same thing. Good luck, Ken

This is the first time I have really tried a kitchen type of test.I had bought one of those giant kumbo family packs of chicken parts and we wanted them de boned and skinned and then I decided to try chopping the bones into pieces to test the edge.So far Donna has used it to fix dinner every night since I posted tho thread and the knife is still saving the hair off my arm.She has been washing and abusing it just as anu kitchen knife would normally get.
Bruce

Eric, that's not as funny as you think. I know someone who bought a goat just to see how tough it was to behead something with his sword. I didn't ask about results!:barf:

Man I knew I should have taken a typing class in High school:D I can'y seem to hit the correct keys for nothing,Does this thing have a spell checker on it;)

CL..Like I have always said the lines and curves of a good looking knife are like the lines and curves on a beautiful woman. When all the curves and lines are in the right place you can't help but stare, but if the lines don't have that gracful curve you don't give a second look. That is why If my knives arent a Sexy as Donna is to me then they aren't done correctly...;)
I guess that is why they are all woman to me..
Bruce

Told ya I aint no good at typing....:D
Not much hair left since it has been shaving not saving the hair on my arms.;)

It's great that I can finally see the pictures you are posting. My ISP must have fixed my problem.

I like this knife very much. The blade has a shape that I find very useful. I don't like the Delrin, but in wood it should look great.

Finally had to sharpen it...2 licks on a steel(no diamonds either, just a old fashioned metal steling rod out of the butcher block) on each side and it was shaving again. Not bad.Guess I need to do some real field testing of this steel now to see how it will hold up.
