Opinions on ZT0350

I personally prefer the bigger brother 0300 series and after going from one of them to a 0350 the first thing I noticed was the flipper tab was a lot thinner than the 0300s and hurt my finger to open too many times. Gave it away on the forum IIRC, just traded into another 0300 though. :-)

I have carried a serrated 350 for a hard use work knife for the better part of year, and its been flawless. It's made me a believer in using a high quality upper-end (for my budget) folder at work.

Mud, wet concrete, dust, you name it. It's never failed to open. It's cut plastic, wood, and banding without a hiccup. Actually, the only damage to the edge has been when I popped it under some heavy duty nylon bands holding a box to a skid in the back of delivery truck and buggered a little chip in one of the serrated teeth. Weird huh? Well it turns out that they weren't nylon bands. They were poly-coated steel bands that looked like nylon in the dark. I didn't cut all the way through the band, but I had sawed through enough of it to pop it with a claw hammer.

Those ZTs are tough. No marketing ploy there.

The 350 isn't my favorite knife. I like the 909 best, a 450 is my light carry knife, and I stuffed a big ol' 630 in my pocket today. However, the 350 is the knife i go to when hard work needs to get done. I'm thinking about snagging a CF version without the serration if I stumble across one and have a few dollars in my pocket.

They really are fantastic workhorses.

She's a beast boys! Lovin it

I have owned several ZT 0350 and just purchased a ZT0350M390 that came with a deep pocket clip that can be purchased aftermarket. Enjoy your new ZT0350.

I didn't know there is an aftermarket deep-carry clip for the 0350! I just bought a 0350. I'm 6' and 250lbs with large hands and it feels comfortable in my hands. I wish the clip was deeper. I find the edges a bit too squared off. Also the jimping on the butt is a bit rough when reaching in my pocket. It is also very wide so it's a bit of a pocket hog. Other than that, I'm keeping mine. It's a very confidence inspiring knife.

Hey guys. I'm looking at the Zero Tolerance 0350 as a EDC knife. Just looking for some opinions from people with experience using the blade for hard daily use. Thanks guys
It will work as an EDC, but becareful with the recurve blade, my friend and I have always struggled with getting the edge to be sharp and smooth enough to slice paper cleanly, it always seem to snag at the transition from curve to the more straight part of the blade.

We use the recommended method with the sharpmaker , sharpening with the pointy side, we even try sharpening it in sections.. Still not the best cutter....
We can get just about any blade to be sharp enough to pass the usual tests (hair shaving, paper cutting)

Your expectation of sharpeness might vary...

Can't argue it's a great knife. I just never was a fan of most of Ken Onion's designs. Too bad too Inwouldnhave loved a ZT with more of a Strider look rather than a Strider build woth a Ken Onion design.

The 0350 is a wonderful edc knife. I will list the negatives IMO.
Big in the pocket
No deep cary clip
Heavy

Thats it. It is great at everything else.

Well, I was going to say this exact same thing, but that's covered!

Also, I'll say that the blade is VERY wide, so if you're using it to cut fruit, or some other small media that you want to slice all the way through, the blade-width and thumbstud will be in your way.

That said, it's an amazingly stout knife, and they are always recommended.

ITs the gateway knife into ZT, will agree with above statements, it is awesome for daily hard use. You will find yourself looking at the others after you get the 350. 566 will be next then the 560 and or the 562, thats the way it went for me at least.

Glad I stumbled upon this thread as I was seriously considering the 0350 for my first ZT. Now, after several in this thread have mentioned the size and weight I think I'll forgo the 0350 and go the the 0566 for an EDC.

I was just curious about your experience with the Zero Tolerance 0350. How good of a knife has it been for you? Rumor has it that ZT may discontinue this model, but I hope they don't. I had one and sold it. I regret that.

I considered 350 so many times
I like wide flat blades :^)
But always bought something else, eh
Very nice knife for good money
Buy again and be happy

My ZT 0350 is my go to EDC. I like big heavy folders and this is one. It has probably the thickest liners I have ever seen on a folder. Will never fail and will take a serious beating.

I love mine and will likely buy another one just in case I lose the one I have now or they go discontinued... which I see as very unlikely. The price was very reasonable considering the amount of knife you get.

I'm a fan! It was the second ZT I bought and will be one of the last I would ever part with. It's big, chunky, heavy and feels like an anchor in my pocket...I LOVE IT! It inspires confidence that, no matter what, I've got a tool that will see me through just about any situation I may find myself in. It doesn't get as much pocket time as it used to, but if I'm going into the unknown it'll usually be the one I grab.

Thanks for all the reply guys. Appreciate it! I have ordered my 0350 and it shall be here today! I'm pumped!

I own 40 ZTs and 3 0350's. I'm sure that you will enjoy the 0350. It's one of the last remaining "classics" in ZTs lineup.

People who don't like it usually don't like it because they don't like assisted and/or recurved blades and those who'd prefer a deeper clip (but the latter could be said about many other ZT models).

However, as far as build and function are concerned, I don't think you should have any issues cutting anything w/it, unless you need a narrower/more pointed blade for finer/more precise work, in which case you may want to pick up an 0450 or 0452 too.

LOL! ;)

That's kind of funny. The only knife I specifically looked for as an assisted opening knife is the 0350. All other assisted knives seemed blah to me. The 0350 is a chunker of a knife and that heft is what makes the assisted part that much nicer. As far as the recurve goes... it's the only recurve blade I like.

Like all my ZT knives it's just done right.
