opinions please

Im not a big fan of the acrylics, though I don't think they look bad.

How do the acrylics look after hanging out in a pocket for a while?

. however i beleive most would agree with myself that in custom pieces only natural materials suffice.

I wouldn't agree with the "only" part. I think micarta is fine on a custom piece, and esp a shadow. I like it for its light wieght and toughness.

Some acrylics I like, but not this one frankly. Might look in place hanging as a decoration from the Christmas tree mind......

I agree with Ken about micarta, it can look fantastic on a Traditional, especially in Antique Ivory form.

Not my favorite acrylic, Dennis, but should be a good conversation piece. Both colorful and exotic.

That Acrylic is too flashy for a knife that size.

It would go very well in a small #25 Jack inclosed with two bolsters.
It would then be a very interesting piece of hand jewlery

Not really my preference. It does however IMHO, give it a look similar to some of the old "Cell" knives, without the gassing issues.
I have to give them credit for trying different scale materials.
One of these days I really need to pick up one of their knives and give it a try.
I don't think it will be acrylic though :D

I like it. As Ken pointed out, it isn't something you see every day, and it has a lot of color to it.

My wife likes it, too.

I dig it, and I'm man enough to admit that. I carry a gold and purple knife every day... granted it's anodized titanium but oh well...

Color can be manly...

I like the handle shape and the material is pretty funky. If it has a useful blade then you are a winner!!!

I don't like it.. but thats because it looks like abalone shell, and i pretty much Hate the look of that stuff.

Not sure what I think of the mostly clear materials, other than it makes the pins look stupid...

I'd like this in a red or orange color range, I think.

I like it and could see myself carrying it as a dress knife. It kinda reminds of the handle material used on Fightin Roosters and Bulldogs. I currently dont own any GEC's as they are too hard on my old hands, but they seem to be fine quality knives.

I don't care for the GEC acrylics in general as they remind me of gaudily painted fingernails. I do prefer the one pictured to the more vibrant yellows and reds though.

Personally for the same money you can get a nice bone or even one of the looking glass with genuine abalone lvs encased in acrylic that would look better. But I suspect that is why there are only 5 in the world, as they just tried a material and decided for themselves that it was not any prettier than their other choices.

Much of the acrylics (and bone for that matter), you just don't know what it will look like until you get that final buff on it. Choices for collectors get somewhat limited if you stick with the obvious scale selections.
