Opinions,Strider or a Sebenza.

I've seen some sebensa's and used a lot of folders. I live in a river delta. The water is always muddy, there is a lot of extremly fine sand/sediment in the water which kills all pivots within weeks. Well, except the striders. U can take them apart and clean them if they're realy clogged, but usually washing with some clean water is enough.
The only other blade which can compare to it is a custom made blade by Hill knives (dutch knive maker). But then again, this is a fixed blade.
The sebensa's are no regular knives, there superb finished and very neatly made. But there not made for this kind of under-water-level misuse, there fine for a tox or some suburb-use and will last without a doubt a life-time or longer. And they seem to be more sheeple, althoug I don't understand why people would be scared by the awsome looks of a strider.

IF tip strength is a concern, keep your eyes out for a Tanto Sebbie.
There are still a few out there.

Do you want a Range Rover, or a Humvee? ;) I think you can figure which vehicle describes which knife. I own a number of Sebenzas, and an AR. Love them both. Probably like the Sebenza better overall. The Strider AR is a really big chunk of steel. Super tough. Heck, the liner lock is almost as thick as some manufacturers frame lock. My AR opens smooth as silk and locks up solid. Good luck. They are both great knives, from 2 great companies that care about their customers.

I rarely hijack threads, so why don't I start here.:D

If perfect fit and finish are important to you, get the Sebbie.

For greater comfort and a more overall utilitarian blade shape, get a SnG.

Or, if you want to save a bunch of money and get a better, yes, I said, better overall knife, pick up a Spyderco Lil' Temperance Leaf Point in S30V. You can pick one up for around $130 shipped. I've had 'em all - and really, I mean it. It doesn't have a finger choil design like the SnG, but the small guards at the front of the scales of the Lil' Temp inspire a LOT of confidence.

The tolerances on the Temp are at least as good as on the typical SnG, although they are no match for a Sebenza.

I can't speak for the Strider, but I personally don't think you will find a better knife than a Sebenza.

This is an old thread from last August, I'm guessing the poster has made a decision by now.

That being said, I like my Sebenza!!!
