I am getting ready to place an order for my next custom 110 and I need some advice. As this one is going to be a 'user', I am wondering what the toughest scale material would be. I don't abuse my knives, but I am going to EDC this one.

Thanks in advance. :)

Well, BG-42, of course, nickel silver bolsters and stag. I wonder why Buck doesn't offer S30V blades from the CS.

Maybe they're trying to keep the Cabela's knife an exclusive by not offering the S30V.

Toughest scales I would say are the Dymond wood offerings---but I consider them god-awefull ugly-----out of the natural wood offerings---I would think the oak is tougher than walnut.

oak over walnut,,

ebony has held up for 40 years now on many knives

on ordering a user from the Custom shop ????

shoot ... go whole hog
jig horn... horn so it dont asorbe stuff and jig for grip with FG added...
nickel so it dont tarninsh like brass
nick shines better later also
get a diamond hone stick also they work fine...

Thanks all for the input. I decided to go for the jigged horn, brass (I just love brass), FG and BG-42. This combo will fit in with my brass theme and still be a 'user'...I hope.
