Opinions. WWII , M43 & British Army Service.

You have been advised to acquire one (or more) of over twenty lengths/models.

To sum up, get one of each. :D

(Someone here has a signature line apx: "Do not ask knifenuts which knife to buy for they will advise you to buy this AND that.")

Having at AK, I think you would find a more slender khukuri (Siru/Gelbu Special/Malla) a very different "feel."

Hi WarDawg,
By all means check out the HI Khukri FAQ if you haven't done so already. The Khukri Dynamics page was done by Pendentive and is a great way to compare the various models.

Best of luck with your decision(s). I'm partial to AK's and Sirupatis, but with two exceptions they're all I've owned. I did have a BAS a while back but sold it because it just didn't seem to be useful for anything in particular and wasn't very exciting. The 10" BDC I sold because I was broke- it was a great little khuk, and very well balanced, but a little small (and thick!) for practical use.

Well I have come to realise that theres know way I can get out of here with justone. I want a long slender 21" to have kinda like a short sword, and I want a 18" camping tool/defensive. - So I will have to do,two over a periord of time. I keep going back to the 18" WWII, M43 , and Ganga Ram . All in the 18" .... Ive looked many times and haven't figuered it out yet. It will come to me.. I'll study them again tommorow. WarDawg

I don't have an 18" Ganga Ram (or Baby Ganga Ram Special as its called) but its considered a very good all around khuk by many. You may have to decide by drawing a model name out of a hat (or any other appropriate box or bowl shaped device). ;)
