opinions

When my son was in Cub Scouts I taught his den how to safely use their Cub Scout knives by carving on a bar of soap. Not one of the boys cut themselves (a true miracle) and they all learned that a knife is a tool that needs to be respected.

As long as a teenager uses his knife as a tool and not a weapon, I don't see any problem with them carrying a knife as long as they have their parents permission, and it is lawful to do so where they live.

Use common sense when carrying a knife, don't show it off, and do NOT take it to school!

My dad gave me my first knife when i was 5. Im now 25. he taught me how to properly care for, sharpen, and use my knife before i was ever allowed to own one. I clearly remember him telling me that a knife is a tool, never a weapon. Kids these days dont seem to understand the distinction. Props to you for understanding that and acting accordingly.

I just wanted your opinion on teenagers with knives(I'm very responsible I EDC my spyderco paramilitary 2)
So yeah opinions on the good AND the bad teens

Good teens? They ought to carry a pocketknife.

Bad teens? They ought to get their s**t together. Life is tough enough when you're not stupid.

I agree! When I was a kid everyone carried a knife, showed off their knives and traded knives.

...^this. i carried a folder all through school and to this day. now and then you catch a bit of flak for it however... that's just how our new "PC" scared of everything and whine because our mocachino is too hot world has become over the last 20+ years. it's rediculous that you can't carry a tool as a man (or young man) without being made into a villain. nobody ever complains if you pull your knife out to cut someones seatbelt and recover them from a burning car. sorry, touchy subject for me. I have been in handcuffs twice over knives and i have never once even taken one out in a manner that was innapropriate.
