Optimal Bushcrafter Advice

Wow, a small deluge of advice and insight; much oblige and many thanks to all who took time and effort to chime in. Ya'll are helpful and forthright to say the least ...

Likewise, many sound suggestions on make, model and specifications for the optimal bushcraft blade. I suspect virtually any of the knives suggested would suffice, if not excel, at my meager yet growing bushcrafting interests.

That said, per my own methodical research and hearty feedback from numerous quarters (this forum included), I pulled the trigger on a BHK Bushcrafter this morning.

The BHK Bushcrafter seemed to me to (a) readily meet the criteria, (b) fit my budgetary constraints (just) and (c) catered to my desire to support American industry. It also seems to carry a unique character not readily replicated in other makes and models for this price-to-performance ratio.

FWIW, both JK Handmade and Breeden were very close contenders for this slot; I may yet invest with these gentlemen at a future date. Perhaps gifts for sons equally exploring this pursuit?

Thanks again for your generous feedback and shared wisdom with this research folks.
