Options for fixed blade EDC

Sorry to ask again but I'd really like to see a few more little carbon steel fixed blades that I can carry in my pocket. All I've come up with is the Bumble Bee that Bark River makes.
Thanks everyone,
Will

If you don't mind something that's not as traditional, RAT Cutlery's Izula is a great little fixed blade in 1095 that you can easily carry in your pocket. I'm carrying mine that way right now.

Funny you mention it, the reason I started this thread is because I've been carrying my Izula and wanted to mimic it with something a bit more traditional. I guess I should have clarified. Lol thank you though.

I just got a Landi PSK in a swap. It is a hair over 6" OA, with a generously sized handle. The blade is full flat grind and carbon, although I forget what exact flavor. Mine is orange G10, but natural materials are also available. It came with a kydex neck sheath, but I have one of those KSF pocket sheaths, which it shares with a multitool.

It's comparable to some of the smaller Bark Rivers, but with a better (for me)handle

Bob Dozier makes a knice knife.D2 steel, and a lot of different designs in a small size.

Top left "Anniversary EDC" (I carry this everyday) 3" scale to tip, 6 1/2 inch OAL

Bottom left "EDC model" 2 3/4" scale to tip 6" OAL

Bottom right Modified LDK 2" scale to tip, 4 1/2" OAL (it is my son's first custom)

Center "mini-nessmuck" 1 1/2" scale to tip, 4 1/8" OAL

All made by Stomper (John of JK Handmade Knives) ,he has his own forum here in the makers section.
They are all made from O1 (he also does 1095),and John has a great selection of scale materials.

He is also the reason I have not bought any slipjoints in awhile.:o

Cold Steel Pendeton Mini Hunter is nifty, rubber handle and plastic sheath but perfect size. That BHK mini workhorse is a gem also in 4140. Jon Landi makes a knife called the PSK with a super comfy grip in 1095. Nick Allen (NWA) works in 01 carbon and has some smaller work. So many great choices in this EDC size.

Ontario - Ranger Little Bird Tan Micarta 4" in 1095

it is a necker so it would work well in your pocket

To Todd A: That "Anniversary EDC" is exactly what I've been after all along! Thanks so much!

Your welcome. It is a great knife, at a great price.

Mine has micarta, but John offers several choices of wood for an even more traditional "look". Too bad he doesn't do jigged bone.

I'm not against a quality stainless steel. Thank you all for the many well-suited choices.

I just purchased a Bark River PSK today. This brand-spankin' newest version uses 13C26 Sandvik, and is just over 5" with 2.25" of blade. I plan to EDC it. The best thing for me is the blade thinness. At 0.9", it's much thinner than their usual blades, which will suit me well for all the cardboard I cut down in a week (not to mention apples that need slicing, and well, you know... ;-) ). Having something that will not bind is important to me.

The PSK comes in many flavors of hardwood, stag, micarta, G10 and even grass. ;)

I was looking for a small pocketable fixed blade and got this from Blindhorse Knives. This was one of their monthly specials with 4140 steel and micarta handles.

Although they come with a nice belt sheath, I decided to get this pocket sheath from Knives Ship Free and carry a flashlight too.

JohnnyR, how well does that knife fit in that sheath? I have a similar knife from them, and I was contemplating that sheath for pocket carry. Any pics of the knife in-sheath?

For the OP: Any of the patch knives from BHK would be a great choice, I think. I have one of their monthly specials (different from JohnnyR's) and it's really great! Good luck with your search.

Frostyfingers, the knife fits the sheath very well. The leather shapes itself around the handle and keeps it secure, but still easy to pull out.

I have recently decided to Look into fixed blades and retire my folder for a while. Great thread so far!
