A customer asked me to build this type of sheath. I liked it so much I built one for myself. I can't wear a fixed blade at work but I can slip on in my back pocket and use it off and on and keep it in my truck, or it sits next to me on the coffee table. Im using it here with a custom 212. Like it, love it or hate it?

A pen or pencil or sharpening rod will slip next to it in the second pocket

You could make it for camping/survival by putting a magnesium stick with it...

I think a regular pencil could break and you'd never get the other piece out, you could and just resew it, but the rest of us. A pen could possibly bleed thru...

I like my idea the best... :D:p:cool:

I say a straight knife and smaller folder in one sheath. I agree with pencil situation, but a flat carpenters pencil might work. 300

I'll go with a carpenters pencil... I may be a day late and a dollar short on this, someone made a sharpener for those and it actually works great....

I like it. I like the knife too. Usually I see kydex for fixed blade pocket sheaths. It's nice to see leather. One thing I would like to see if possible is something for the thumb to separate the sheath from the knife one handed. To draw from the pocket or separate outside the pocket would be handy.

If you did that, you wouldn't be able to pull the whole thing out of your pocket. I believe that's what Makael was trying to achieve....

I am a fan of the pocket organizer. I've never tried a fixed down in the pocket but I did enjoy one clipped on when I was able to do that.

This time of year, a flashlight is very nice to have.

I like it. Nice job as always. Maybe attach some sort of ring or dangler so u can pull it out of the back pocket one handed (if necessary) and the sheath will fall but stay attached. (Like that inside the wasteband paracord dodad nonsense but better)

Maybe just a little leather around the outside where the thumb goes. Enough to start the release of the knife (or not if you don't want to). On this Kydex sheath there is a lip where the thumb goes. It doesn't really get in the way. Just an option I like, but maybe not for everyone.

I like that idea on the kydex. That's not something you see to often.

Good ideas. I like this pocket sheath for the smaller fixed blades. I like having them on me but I can't commit to belt carry. Helps justify owning them. Otherwise my fixed blades stay at home and have to wait until we head for the hills to enjoy them.

It looks a little weird the way this particular knife sits in it, but overall I do like the idea.
Can't do pocket carry of fixed blades here though.

A. G. Russel used to sell a small fixed blade knife that had a leather back pocket sheath similar to that. It was simpler though, and only held the knife more centered in the sheath. My cousin has one and loves it!

Good looking work as always!!

That same style with a clip would be nice too. My kids have morakniv knives with hard sheaths that clip to a belt for fishing. They are very handy. Clip to the outside of the front pocket, or inside the pocket clip out. Clip to a belt (obvious). Clip to the bungee cord on the kayak etc.

Excellent craftsmanship! Love the pint tree! Often thought of something like that for a 102, maybe with a flashlight. My only problem is picking a good flashlight.

I've been thinking about the whole concept of caring a small fixed blade in a pocket..A potential problem is pulling the shieth partly out inadvertently with the knife and then safely putting it back in without cutting your pants or worse. My thoughts were to look at gun holsters and see how they solved issues like this...
Rough leather on back seems like the answer to the first but figuring out the details how to 'channel' the blade on insertion safely??? Maybe the answer is in the lining..

I like it. I don't wear a belt (it henders my dunlap disease) 99% of my fixed blade use (outside the kitchen) is cleaning game. I generally just shove the standard sheath in my back pocket and havn't had any trouble re-inserting the knife.

On gun pocket holsters you holster the gun then put it in your pocket. Which is how I use a sheath knife if I pocket carry it.
