I was never too excited about orange scales on knives, either fixed blades or folders. However, I find myself getting more and more interested in them and think I may trip the trigger on one soon. So, what do you think about orange handled knives?

I voted that I don't care, but I will say this. There are some knives that just look great in orange. UKPK, for example looks very nice. The orange Hinderer is also pretty nice. But a lot of orange ones look gaudy.

If you drop an orange knife chances are you will find it. I like them.:D

As you get older and blinder, we can use all the help we can get. I think it's a great option and I thank those knife makers who include it, both custom and production.

You're right, at first when I was still in the "tacticool look" stage I never even understood why. I soon outgrew that and now I find myself the proud owner of an orange military that I EDC.

I agree completely.

The only orange knife I have is a UKPK. I like it very much. Do I feel the need to get more knives with orange handles? Not really.

Do I like orange handles? No.
Do I think they serve a very valid purpose? You bet!

My cheapo eBay throwing knives get the occasional lick of orange spray paint; it makes the world of difference in finding an errant flier in the grass.

OK, I am an addicted knife collector, and I really like collecting interesting knife handle material. HOWEVER, for my users, I like the orange handle. I don't really care what the knife looks like, but I do like to be able to find them if dropped.

This is one of my favorites.

I used to own pretty much every version of the Sharpfinger ever made . . . except the orange one. When I was younger I thought it was silly. Several years ago when I was looking to complete my collection I saw that the orange Sharpfingers in decent condition tended to sell for over $100 on eBay.

Orange handles have a valid purpose (visibility) and some folks like the way they look, but I've always thought they were ugly.

Never owned one, but,I want one someday. My eyes are'nt what they used to be,so I can see where an orange handled knife would come in handy.

I really like the orange handles, although, they sure show the dirt :p

I have a few orange handled knives and other outdoor items. I have also added some other orange handled knives to my collection since this picture was taken.

I own 2 orange Spyderco Military knives. I carry 1 when I go hiking and the other sits in my right back pocket during business hours. Office people do not quite panic as badly with that one.
