The origin of that knife was discussed a few pages back. IIRC, they're custom scales.

This thread's gone about two months stale, so maybe a fresh post will give it a bit of a bump and there'll be a bit more orange love to go around....

I bought a couple mini-Grips last summer as I'd never had anything but larges. I got 'em planning to change out the scales on both, but only did the Rtter (in Wilkins) as the factory scales on the minis are surprisingly not as hateful to me as they are on the full. They seem more solid--read less hollow-sounding--and almost G10-like in their feel. Probably just that there's less crappy Noryl stretched over a smaller base. I moved the orange crips over to the black sheepfoot mini to make a pair with my previously posted large wearing the Igorded G10 random pattern. I probably will end up getting a matching set for the little guy at some point. Here's the pair for now, anyway.

Edit: I added the Parkerized split arrow clips that really pop on those orange scales.
