Orange - Love it or Loathe it? (But post 'em anyway)

Re-do round two on this subject. I did some digging and here is another shot (below) of the knife in question and Kris's comment in the "Two for Tuesday" thread. We might have to wait for Kris to confirm.

Phil

Ok see yeah, this angle helps a lot, but I thought the Bushpik was narrower and pointier for some reason. There were so few made, if even more than one..., that I don't get to see one often enough to keep it in mind. My bad, sorry. That will just make Sergio want it even more, and Kris want even more for it lol

Yes, yes. I see it now. The elusive Bushpik. It is like a chameleon, taking on the appearance of a Bushfinger. Indeed a rare specimen. You are correct Brian, I want it even more now.
Hmm, I may have something worthy of such value. But one that will likely remain in my clutches. ;)

I imagine I know which one that might be :D

Well sense i won't be the first or probably the last to mung up the tread with non fiddleback knives and seeing how it's the only one I have with orange but is one of my top three favorites

This thread has really got me pumped to jump into my day. Thanks guys.

BTW, I encourage non Fiddleback knife posting in my forum. I like these two posts as well!

Love it, a bright orange knife couldn't possibly be a weapon, so the sheeple don't complain ;)

Edit: Doh! I missed that this was in the Fiddleback section, sorry about that.

I don't like orange scales myself, even though I can see the practical side of them when one looses a knife in high grass, dead leaves, etc, but do love the color for liners (orange & lime green are my fav colors for liners) & accessories:

I'm liking that light. Which is it?

I am not a big fan of orange liners unless they are paired up with all black handle material or very dark woods. I don’t own any knives with orange liners currently. I prefer lime green or white liners. My least favorite liner color is blue.

When it comes to handle materials, Electric Orange and Tangerine are a couple of my favorites.

Phil:

All you need is Vance's Palmer to complete your inverted pyramid of orange goodness.......nicely done my friend !

Like SA said, that's the L10C from L3 Illumination. It's been discontinued though, but they've replaced it with the very similar L11C. It comes in a clicky and a twisty version with 3 or 4 modes (4th mode adds moonglow-mode) and with a neutral white or a cool white LED. They come in orange, black and gray.

It would have been the perfect light if only it had memory mode.

Not sure if I'm allowed to post a link here so look for "sbflashlights" if you can't find them on Amazon

After going through this thread, it struck me how much orange liners was in my group. My main bunch is osage with orange pinstripe on natural or black liners, but a couple more have snuck into the family. Here's a quick shot with the little 3 finger Karda in orange kirinite almost forgotten.

good to hear andy the knife i posted is a backwoodscustom knife clip point hunter i have used to so much i wore off some of the pattern on the damascus blade i just re etched with ferric acid to bring it back

I believe that what Kris is trying to tell you is that that knife is not a Bushfinger. It is the very rare Bushpik. You might have to offer more than one appendage to pry that one loose from him. :D

Phil

Bingo!

That's what I thought too. The original had a longer pointier blade. It was posted in the one of the Fiddleback rarities threads in the last year. If I remember correctly, dude has a matching Bushpik and Woodpecker. Crazy! There are two others I've seen, including this one. Both of those have a shorter blade with a more Bushfinger like profile.

I think this may be one those that I won't let go. I'm good on appendages for right now. Maybe if Sergio has a slate blue handled Bow Legged Chopper. ;)

I'm gonna have to say no to orange liners. Really doesn't do anything for me. The only one here I liked was this one. ☺
