I have tried the search function on how to apply this finish. The way I understand it is that it is applied with a wire wheel. Just wondering if someone could point me in the right direction for more specific information. Is there a special technique involved, how much pressure is used, what size and type of wire wheel, what speeds are involved, can you do this in steel? I have only seen this done on titanium. Someone else said they were able to attain this finish after grinding their handles to a 60 grit finish then going to a scotchbrite belt. I am looking to try this finish on balisong handles using 303 stainless or titanium. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Don

Don, get yourself a wire cup wheel from the hardware store and chuck it up in your drill press. you want as much speed as you can get for this. i also have a wire wheel for my buffer but find it to soft. start with light consistant pressure and apply more if need be! it's easy to over due it and get a messy finish.

orange peeling can only be done on titanium, it will not effect steel's the same way.
