Are you talking about your 6 or did you place another order ?????
"Awaiting fulfillment" is the default status from as soon as you place an order until it ships. There might be an "awaiting shipping" but I think that is rare and a very short term status.
If we're talking about a GSO 6 then it will show as "awaiting fulfillment" as the steel sheets get cut and blades get ground and sharpened and assembled.

Unfortunately car rego left me absolutely dry, so yes regarding my 6. Had rego not come up i would of added an 8 to that order
But what left me confused was under "awaiting fulfillment" it also says "Re-order" so i thought perhaps it didnt go through properly. Although the payment has gone through.

Question regarding pre-orders:
If I place a pre-order for a GSO 6, will I be charged the full amount (currently $234) as soon as the order is place or when the said model goes into production? An answer would be greatly appreciated since this will help me as to whether to use my credit card or just PayPal funds (not CC through PayPal as I have funds sitting there). Thanks again, CS~

Yes this is the default status upon placing your order as Silver Needle stated. Based on where the GSO 6 is on the production schedule, I would estimate that your status should change sometime-----Drum Roll please---------in 2019 give or take a few month's. Of course this is only my opinion.

I believe that you are charged the full amount upon placing order or shortly thereafter.

When you order a knife from Survive they charge you the full amount for it, regardless of when it will be shipped.
Some of the folks that paid for knives during the starter program of last year are still patiently waiting for their knife model to come up in the production cycle.
The pre-orders are for knives that have not yet entered production, so I think that you can expect to wait at least six months for your knife to ship.
If you don't want your money tied up that long you can wait until the knives are completed and try to purchase one at that time.
You might have to be persistent, fast, and lucky to get one because there has been a lot of demand for those knives.
I think that the GSO 4.7 is entering the Monday sales cycle, but you need to watch the production schedule on their webpage to know the timing.

In all fairness I believe it might be a bit early to expect the GSO 4.7 to be entering into the Monday sales cycle, as for the majority of the pre-orders/pre-sales have yet to ship. Who knows for sure though.

Thank you everyone for your input and for confirming my original presumption. I am not too worried about the $amount but I am extremely impatient. I would be OK for a 6-9 months wait period but as Sharp Thoughts had quipped tongue-in-cheek, it may take longer than that. So the options I am faced with now are:
1- Landing a GSO 5.1 on a factory 2nd Monday run (not holding my breath)
2- Buying on the secondary eBay market which means I'll either have to pay $350 for one which would hopefully be close enough to my desired options but not exactly what I would have wanted, or to pay a bit less and get the older pre 2015 models.
3- Ordering an RMD and to wait 4-14 weeks.
4- Just bear with what I have for now as they are good enough (TOPS BoB Fieldcraft, Fallkniven A1, Esee 4) till S!K changes its business model with the aid of adding more bladesmiths and also alternative source of capital infusion without giving the farm away (I'm just purely guessing on this front but they seem understaffed while GS is working around the clock to run a tight ship)

Our system is setup to charge when the order is placed. This is partially to help us invest in the production run. Mostly we charge up front so that we don't have to take time away from fulfilling orders to hunt people down to get payment later.
2019!?! I certainly hope not. I would like to see all of the preorders shipped out within 2016, though I can see where a few of the later ones may not make it out until early 2017.
We still have a lot of those preorders and pre-sale orders to get through. Though there are some Factory 2nds that we are running across in the process of fulfilling those so you will probably start to see those soon. And maybe the secret steel GSO-4.7.

Ellie, thank you for your response. I certainly do not mind "advancing" $234 to a seemingly great U.S. knife making company and will gladly wait 6-9 months (or as you had said maybe early 2017 for fulfillment) My original Q just was meant to draw an answer to make me determine as to whether to use my credit card or the cash in my PP account. In this case, I will go via the CC route, if I am unable to buy a factory 2nd and even if I am successful by some miracle, I may still order a GSO6. Good luck with all the endeavors, CS~

Even with the current O2W, the wait on the RMD is only running about 6 weeks. And as much as I like my 5.1, the RMD is right there with it. To be honest, the 5.1 is a sweeter knife. But only by a little.

Thank you for your input. I have never had one but what has always held me back is the rough texture coating they put on their blades. As for aesthetics go if all else is on par in between the two, I still do prefer the GSO models.
