I really like how the curvature of the blade on your pocket muk disappears right into the bottom of the handle

is this possible on the larger 'muks you make?

I really like the horizontal-S wavy blade profile/handle design in this type of knife, but really want at least the medium size ones

may I enquire into a couple JK knife models I'm unfamiliar with, in terms of possible 2021 purchase?

Some photos of the sheepsfoot friction folder (aka The Handyman) that John made for me last week. It is 5.75" OAL, blade is 2.25", micarta handles. The flipside of the blade has a small flathead screwdriver/prybar. I am very happy with the size and it is much lighter than I expected, which I wanted in an EDC. Thanks John! I'll post some more pics of the yellow belt hawk soon.

size compared to Gerber Air Ranger, my old EDC

would you be willing to make one of these smaller sheepsfoot friction folder?

some really nice pictures here lately, keep it up guys :)

thought I'd drop an update on the contest winning knife, got stuck here for a week or so because I ran out of belts and had to wait awhile to pick up some more. Should eb finishing it up here in a few more days.

would this blade style fit your friction folder model?

WOAH!!!!!

is this friction folder design avaliable?

Since there are only 6 confirmed orders for 2021, it looks like I will be quitting in January. Also does not seem like it’s going to be worth keeping the forum going, unless it’s just to try to sell other knives after I quit taking orders. I’ve got a few weeks to consider my options.

Does that mean you are not going to continue making knives? I mentioned awhile ago, it would be good to stop taking custom orders, keep making the knives you want with various handles or materials, being creative and trying new ideas and post them for sale as you want, I think there would be a market for them to be snatched up in a hurry. That would reduce overhead in materials and you would not have customers dropping out on you after placing the orders, leaving you holding the bag. And maybe it is time to try the social media thing, a few makers have done that now that used to be active here. Just something to consider. We will be here to support you no matter what happens. I would be disappointed if you stop making knives. But posting completed items here is still an option as you make them. :D:thumbsup:

That’s my thoughts, make knives when I can afford to, and hopefully sell them. I already post pictures on Facebook and Instagram, never even get asked questions about them.

I see where the confusion came from. The post should have said quit taking orders, not quit making knives.

yeah, I want that tool. and to find out more about your various friction folder designs :)

wishing you well JK, whatever you decide to do!

If you want the Tool I will need details by mid January. I know you mentioned some special details, without knowing what they are I don’t even know if I can do it. As for friction folders I don’t offer any of the older models anymore.

K. You'll have your details for the Tool etched in stone waiting in your inbox by sunup tomorrow

John,
Have you ever done a Tool with a full height grind?

something I forgot to ask! as a general rule, I prefer to have knife makers make models according to their preferences, given whatever they are more comfortable/practices making.

If John thinks a scandi is a safer/better bet than full flat, I'm open

Otherwise I'm looking for maximum utility with the veggies :)

I would think the scandi would not do so well for kitchen duty.
