Order of Kai Giveaway; Old School Oddities

This giveaway is only open to members of the Order of Kai fan group.


For the sake of fun and as a gesture of "I need to thin out my collection and do some good deeds," here goes a giveaway of semi-sexy proportions. These are actually some special pieces out of my collection, and I feel that they would find some nice homes given the chance.


Entry:
Since some of these prizes are a bit special, you folks are going to have to work for them. To enter the giveaway, you have to post a video about the first knife you ever remember owning. Yes, it has to be a video. You can do a webcam video, or just upload something to YouTube and make it unlisted. It can be on Vimeo as well. It just has to be a video entry. There is no time requirement. Just tell a good story, it doesn't even have to be true.

Yes, you can make up a story. Just make it entertaining and well-told. You could even make it a rap, or some singer/songwriter bit.

This will run for two weeks, and the entries will be watched and judged by my wife. She's an English and Drama teacher at one of the best schools in New York City, and knows a good story when she hears one.



The prizes will work like this:

  • 1st Place: Picks ONE knife and one hat. If you can fit the S/M Flexfit, I ask that you take that one so that a gent with a larger head can have the adjustable ZT hat.



  • 2nd Place: Picks ONE knife and one hat. The hat request applies here as well.



  • 3rd Place: Picks ONE knife. If either first or second waive their hat prize, you may take it. This is to help work around the sizing restriction, and should be worked out amongst the winners. Since we're all Order brothers here, I trust it won't be an issue. :D



  • 4th Place: Gets the remaining two. :p


I hope you guys have fun with this. I think it'll be remarkably interesting to see how this plays out. I do hope everyone enters!

My hat is off to you sir, this is incredibly generous! Also sense you have one, I've always been curious about th snap-on fixed blade, specifically do you have any idea about the production numbers? And when they where made?

They were supposed to make 4000 but from what I've heard they never made anywhere near that..and they came out in 2010 KER90SO is there model number. An awesome blade, I had one and miss it....might have to make a video :D

I am acting challenged. Do loaners count? I had a red Imperial switchblade that was loaned to me by my uncle who was a General in the USAF. (They were issued to pilots who might have to cut their parachute cords and only had one hand free.) That's his daughter with her hand around my neck in my Kai picture. She always had it in for me. As a result I always had a yen for a fast one-handed opener that I had to sublimate until I went nuts in later life and started collecting flippers and speedsafe knives.
 
I'm not usually a video person as I can not stand to hear my own voice, I might though just have to come up with something for the hell of it! This is a cool deal Mario! Thanks for putting it together :thumbup:
