If the thread is about knives and people come in to talk about old arguments, that might be trolling. No one is excluded, no club membership is required, but courtesy in a discussion forum should be expected. Joining a discussion to start an argument is wrong. Ten points wrong.

I just thought it might be fun to bring back one of the threads from the old subgroup. It might just be best if it is closed. I put this up in the subgroup because I don't want to step on any toes in the general section

Anyone could post in the old thread but they never did. I guess there was a little common courtesy going on instead of "Im gonna post in here just because you said I shouldn't."

I would really like for this thread to work out. I definitely miss the KAI forum and this could be a good alternative but I dont think it will as long as people are posting unnecessary drama and being childish about it.

One of the reasons I first came to Bladeforums was the KAI forum. I was hoping to join Order of the Kai but I figured I would never get enough points, of course now I have way more then what would be needed so that would be cool if at least membership was opened again...

In General Discussion though? It's gonna be bumped up, constantly the #1 topic here if it is anything like the old one. Is that what BF members as a whole want?

Not convinced that this is a good idea, KAI fans are gonna hang out and feel like they own the place especially when someone has a negative experience with the brand on General Discussion... Also, it's gonna be easy pickings for the brand's critics. Maybe it should be in the Community Center...........

Yes, but I also posted this in the Oder of Kai subforum after some of the comments. I just don't want to see any fights brought about because of this thread because it is in the general section.

I didn't get a message from anyone, and personally don't think this is a good idea.

It doesn't have my blessing, and likely not of the other Janitors of the original Order of Kai group. The group, for the most part, has moved to other locations, and there is a Kai forum on USN. The Order of Kai congregates elsewhere, and it doesn't seem like a worthwhile venture to try and organize an 'unsanctioned' (as it were) version of what is no longer on this forum.

My suggestion is, if you want a Kai-centric chat thread, call it something else.

What will be awesome is when a several page long scrap concerning the former KAI rep's dooshiness comes up. That should indeed be "joyous good times"!

Outsiders? I'm sorry, I'm a paying member of this community, and this isn't the KAI subsection. There are no "outsiders" here. If you want to have a member's only thread, it kiiiiiinda needs to be in its own section, which thanks to Thomas' actions here got shut down (oh sorry, shut down at his request).

So, my point is, you can't just say "We're posting this thread in General, and we expect that only members of our specific club can post". Because I can tell you right now that won't be happening. I like Kershaw products and have many but I'm not a member of this group, however, if I read this thread and see something I want to respond to, I'm going to. Well, until it's locked anyway.

You know...I try to keep my actions here professional and act with a cool head but Quiet...you're pissing me off. Some of us know and are friends with people in this community even spending time with them in real life. Understandably, when they are being insulted some make take it personally. I'm the one taking it personally. The Kai forum was closed because Thomas asked it to be closed and not for any other reason but you already knew that.

I agree with the OP that this should be closed as a private group has already be created.
