My dad uses Flowmaster on his Dodge. Very deep rumble.

Here's my Jeep.

Figured I'd snap a pic of my dads John Cooper works Mini. Scary car.

That's a solid first car. Getting your license is exciting at first but after you get it your parents will want you to drive everywhere and run their errands. It's cool at first but after you do it every day for a couple weeks, it gets old. Going off road is very fun though.

Why yes it is!

How's the tranny on your jeep? Are they pretty reliable?

Mines fine. I've heard some bad things about the trannys on a certain 90's model (Can't remember) But I've heard nothing bad about the '96. My mom had a 93 I believe and it started acting up at around 232,000 miles but she never took care of it. Mine has around 156,000 so only time will tell.

My moms '97 Jeep is doing just fine. It's got over 274,000 miles.

I will be posting an awesome thread later today/tonight so keep your eyes peeled!

Good thing you have a resident jeep expert here! up until 94-95 they changed the output shaft splines and it had an effect on the 4spd autos. I personally would find one from atleast 96 and up to 01. You also have a better chance of finding a 5spd which was mostly offered in fleet models and a few sport classics.

Yeah! Now that's a jeep! Is it yours?

Was mine, I miss her sooooooo much.

You can still get an older model like 87 and up it's just hit or miss with the tranny problems. You could also get a 4.2 H.O. which is a stout motor.

Interesting. That explains why my moms acted up (other than her not taking care of it) Did you work for Jeep or are you just an enthusiast? or both?

A white 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan. I like to call it the "rapper" van.

That's a very......................cool? car. Have fun with snow with that FWD? Although FWD is probably better than my RWD truck, but then again it like never snows here.

Just an enthusiast. I have been all over, up and down, inside out and outside in backwards on the them! I had mine for 6yrs and have worked on countless others and gone to the jeep jamborees and all that fun stuff! I have right now a 98 GC 5.9 Limited.

That's too bad. Looks like a very fun car. I believe my moms Jeep was a 4.0 H.O. Did they make those? I know it was H.O but I'm not sure if it was 4.2 or 4.0. Still can't figure out the year.

They made both. some of the 4.0 H.O.'s were actually 4.2's The 4.2 was used in alot of the older cj-5's through cj-8's and some Yj's. then they came out with the 4.0 H.O. A lot of people will do a cheap mans stroker by taking 4.2 cranks and pistons and putting it in the newer
4.0's

Yeah It's not very exciting. You can pile a lot of people in it though. It actually does pretty well in snow. If that's what I'm taking to the ware house sale, than I wouldn't be totally scared to go through the Rockies. I might take my dad's truck though.

Okay I'm thinking it was a 4.0 then. Maybe it was a '91. I remember every winter the outside door handles would be frozen solid. We would have to breath on them and chip away at the ice to get in. Good times. Thanks for all the info man. You're like a Jeep encyclopedia!
