Well, since I've joined these forums I've got to join the "order of kai", lol. I think 90% of my knife collection are Kershaw/ZT's haha. I'm workin' on meeting the req's! Still need a few more knives and a few more posts :)

first off i know this is a KAI thread and this is definetly not a KAI produced knife but i had to show it off somewhere where people appreciate nice knives and there is no Strider section

here is my new baby Strider SNG 3/4grind Z-Wear steel

Nice, please let us know how the z-wear holds up. I love the monster pivot you can see through.
I'm waiting for the right deal to come along and I'm gunna get a smf.
Anyway, take a look in the archive there was a strider forum...

I just found this laconico on EDC forums....I'm drooling lol

Morning. Found out some really crappy news yesterday. My wife has Thryroid Cancer! She'll be having her Thryroid removed in the next couple weeks followed by a radioactive iodine treatment. Luckily, Thyroid cancer is 99.5% curable by removing the thyroid and doing this treatment. Still sucks and is still scary to say your wife has cancer!

Dang, that sucks. Wishing you and her the best of luck.

how much and where can i get one

I don't know how to say this....but I don't think he makes that model any more (sorry for the tease lol) and they would run about $500 but you could try contacting him, I'm not sure he's taking custom orders though. Also he's sells allot on the forums. Just as a warning: Ray Laconico's work is sought after, the longest I've seen one of his knives sit in the exchange if 46 minutes flat.

Good luck!

P.S
he dose make a similar model called the "EDC" it's almost exactly the same with the exception of the handle which on th EDC is more of a rectangle (no finger grooves)

*EDIT*
I wish you're wife some luck iceman!!! Keep you're head up!

That sucks man. But it's good to hear that it's pretty curable. Give us updates whenever stuff happens.

iceman, thyroid cancer sucks, but is an easy one.... my sister in law had it last year and shes doing great, so keep ur head up, there is a light at the end of the tunnel!! and you should look into going Gluten free for her after her surgery.

Thanks for all the kind words guys. I'm honestly not too worried about her health as I know how curable it is. Already got a huge bill for her biopsy and ultrasound. Man what a rip off. Going to have to fight the insurance company on this one.
