BMI is just a straight formula calculation based on height and weight (no other factors are considered). While it can provide a very very rough at-a-glance guesstimation (just based on stats and averages), it is not a measure of health/fitness. The components of physical fitness are: cardio fitness, muscular strength, muscular endurance, flexibility, and body composition. Height and weight measurements are not part of any of those.
