Ordered a BK4 *AND* BK12(Ritter/Becker RSK MK2) last night!

Well, I've been really wanting to get a BK10... but after a few failed attempts, I finally did some more research on the RSK MK2... and I think I'll really like it. It seems like it's just about exactly what I want. I do like my BK2 a lot... but i wish it was just a hair longer (the RSK is)... I also don't think the BK2 needs to be quite as thick as it is for the length (the RSK is a little thinner). It's got the same drop point style along with the Becker handle.... I think it should be just about perfect. Ordered the factory micarta to go along with it.

I also finally bit the bullet and ordered the BK4 Machax as well. To go with that one I ordered some of the black micarta grips from ebay. Pretty stoked about that one as well... interested to see how it compares to my BK9.

Surprised at the lack of videos on the RSK MK2 on YouTube... there are a few... but I was hoping for more. So I'm definitely interested to hear your opinions of the RSK.

I dont personally own an rsk but if i had to pick one becker to last me forever that would be it. However it is on my list to have as the big brother to my bk16

Congratulations on the purchases! The BK12 won't disappoint. There were a few threads on it in the last few months so if you wander back through the pages, you should find them if you can't do it through the search feature.

Nice choice. The BK12 was my first Becker, and still my favorite. I picked it for many of the same reasons you did, I like the drop point and the thumb ramp, and the size seemed just right to me. You'll love the micarta, as truth be told I wasn't really a fan of the grivory, even stippled. It won't chop as well as your BK9 or the 'chax (what does??) but it'll be your go-to knife for everything else.

I'm BROKE! Well... not really. I'm fortunate enough to have a good bit of disposable income at the moment... so I'm trying to get my camping/survival/wilderness gear all built up the way I want.

My BK4 surprised me and showed up at my door on Saturday. The BK12/MK2 showed up today along with the factory micarta grips. I put the factory micarta on the BK4 and will wait for the black micarta for the MK2. The MK2 is exactly what I was hoping it would be. It's like a BK2, only a bit more refined. A little thinner and a little longer, with an exponentially better sheath. I really like it from the hour that it's been in my possession.

The BK4 is also making a tremendous impression on me. It was excellent as it was, and now with the micarta grips, it's just crazy awesome. I live the way it swings. I'll try to get some pics up tonight when I get home from work!

I got serial #220 for the MK2 which is oXide's BH#. I sent him an email to see if he was interested in that particular number. I know a lot of guys really want one with their BH# on it, and since I'm too new to get a number yet, I wanted to offer it to him before I did any mods to it.

I emailed them recently with that question and they said they can't open the boxes but a phone call might make a difference. Please let me know if you get to pick a number.

That's funny. The BK12 doesn't ship in a box. It ships in a plastic bag like the ESEE knives do. You can easily read the serial number through the plastic.

Take a BK2, stretch it about an inch, drop the point just a hair, and grind it down to 3/16... ha!
