I had ordered a case tiny trapper, but got this sent instead. Normally I would be upset, since I hate returning things.... but I like this knife! I am going to keep it, and can order a tiny trapper some other time :-) I did not own this color, nor a congress... so it's all good :-)

To top it off, I was able to apply some points by using my credit card... a points thing one can use towards purchases on this particular site. My actual dollar cost was 13 bucks so it was a great buy! :-)

Nice knife! I don't normally care for the Congress pattern but that one has a great combination of blades. Too many of them have mirror image blades which is kind of a waste. Why not make them like yours with lots of variety?

Ive done that before. Ordered a SBJ and got a med Stockman...would have kept the Stockman if it didnt have wobble...was irritating...wonder if you got it from the same vendor...?

I've always wondered how thick is that knife when closed as compared to a two bladed trapper or three bladed stockman? Is it thicker for sure or nearly the same?

I've had that happen before from a certain pharmacy that is a BF verified dealer. They posted a credit for the Case Bose knife I wanted to get and I returned the knife. It all worked out for everyone involved.

That's a pretty knife. Second Cut Kentucky Bluegrass bone? Or is that Pocket Worn Bermuda Green? I've got one Case Congress 64052 that hasn't yet (may never) make it into my carry rotation. Not knowing exactly what you ordered, I'd say in general you came out on the winning end of that goofup, since the Congress patterns are usually priced north of the Tiny Trappers.

Thickness seems no more than a mid sized trapper... the blades are thinner, for sure. This is a case with second cut Kentucky bluegrass bone. $70 seems to be about the average going rate on these online, so yes, it is averaging about $20 higher than the tiny trapper I had actually ordered. I would probably not have chosen this pattern knife sight unseen, or ever likely chosen this color... But, it coming to me by accident... I can honestly say that I do like it. It brings a diversity to my collection that I would not have likely added. So.... as is often said... "all's well that ends well" :-)

Ahh, another first with this knife, a diamond shaped shield... check that off the list now, lol! ;-)

A nice knife and a great deal by the way... what's not to like ? I must say Case offers the most gorgeous array of bone scales.

Not even close to what was ordered but if you like that one too then hey, it works out. I would probably keep a congress to try too since I don't have one.

Divine hand made the swap :) on your behalf. Nice knife, great pattern and great scales color. Congrats
I would have kept it as well

Mike

Probably the seller won't be quite so happy when he comes up shy a Congress.

It was weird... The Case box and Case label were correct. It had the correct info on what the knife inside was. But, the seller's printed label had the info of the tiny trapper I had ordered. I'm just glad the knife was nice enough to be acceptable to me... I would not have wanted to contact them and have to send it back, then wait for the correct one again... ugh... just hate that whole process. If they have done this with others, or many others, there are going to be a lot of folks calling them and wanting what they ordered. Accidents happen... but sometimes, like in this case, the correct info was already on the box straight from case, but some pretty major carelessness must have happened for them to over-ride that info with the wrong info. Again, I'm just glad it was an acceptable mistake for me.

Got my initial cleaning done on this knife, and it continues to please me. This Case Congress pattern knife has what they call their 2nd cut jigged Kentucky Bluegrass bone, a diamond shaped shield, stainless steel blades that are well installed and do not rub each other, good walk & talk, no wobble of any sort (good f&f all the way around), and each blade has a half stop. Overall, Case has been good to me thus far, with their knives having been acceptable to surpassing my expectations. It had been a bit since I had gotten a Case, (a few months), because I was trying to diversify the collection by starting to add other brands and patterns. Having received this latest Case, reinforces my opinion that Case is a very good company. Them offering a well made product at a very comparable price... again, imo :-)

Nice to hear your positive review on the Case Jimmy. I'm also looking at Case a bit more now for the reasons you state. Plus, I just received 2 knives back from the Case Repair Center for which I am very pleased with their service. When I get super customer service from a vendor or manufacturer it makes me much more comfortable buying from them. Also, since I am not an avid user like yourself (more display etc.) I like their use of stainless steel on a lot of their knives.
