Ordered a knife, got a different one... but, gonna keep it :-)

Yes, I too agree with your thoughts, Stan. Stainless steel is just fine for me (though I like to have other steels for diversity).... I am not one who is looking to add an aged look to my knives, so patina is not something I seek or desire. Even for use, my kitchen knives and any knife I may keep on my person, I prefer the ease of care stainless offers. And though I do like traditional in these knives I collect, obviously we know that stainless did not just hit the market.... it simply got better than it's first days of pocket knife use. :-)

You certainly have a nice knife especially for the cost. That happened to me once from another company. I kept the different knife as well. It's a Karma thing. Now it's my Wife's EDC. When She's happy I'm happy.

Thanks! :-)
It is kind'a funny remembering my initial reaction when I first took the knife out of it's box. This big thing came out (well, big when compared to the tiny trapper I was expecting). And it was bluish green.... yuck! But, then I got passed my initial disgust, and started to inspect the knife. Hmmm.... so this is a Congress pattern knife. Then, I realized the color and styling would add some new flair to my collection. Then, to add icing on the cake, the knife was well made. The fact that it would have cost me more than the tiny trapper, well, that did not hurt either! ;-)

I'm betting whoever gets your tiny trapper rather than the congress they ordered will be less happy -- but nice score for you.

Yup, I'd say it was! :-) I hope this is just an uncommon fluke for them.... I mean... hope it ain't always a grab bag with their merchandise.... (I never did have luck with grab bags, until now) ;-)
