Ordered a new gun today

Ever since they first came out in the early 80s I've wanted a Coonan .357 semi-auto. I didn't have the means then and didn't get one before their bankruptcy in '94. They've been back on the scene now for 5 or 6 years and I have finally taken the plunge and ordered one today. Very excited to get this one out to the range.

Gotta love a semi .357. That's a very cool and unique piece. Make sure to post a review of how it shoots. Congrats
 
I actually shot one a few weeks back. They're fantastic pistols. Magazines are a bit expensive, but, most of the good things in life are.

I believe they make the pistols right up the road from me here in good ol' Minnesoda.
 
I shot a friend's Coonan 357 a few years ago. Lots of flash and blast, but recoil was very manageable.

He also had a 45 win mag pistol. THAT was a monster!
 
Congratulations! It should be a lot of fun.

The .357 mag cartridge has been around for a long time, and has seen others come and go, but it is still one heck of a performer.

Awesome pistol. I use to have a DE in 357mag.....loved the round but the pistol was overkill for it. I heard that Coonan handles very well. Congrats man.....great buy!
 
I remember those, I heard they were making them again. I'm glad to see they still have that understated look. .357 Magnum is a great round. Here's my favorite .357:

I love mine, most fun pistol cartridge handgun I have. Scored mine in a local store a few months back. It's surprisingly less harsh to shoot than my revolvers with the same ammo and the Coonan prefers the higher pressure stuff with the .357 spring. There is a lighter spring to use with 38's, but I have not bothered with it yet, too much fun shooting the full loads, makes your face look like this:D. Kinda like a Busse, the more you feed/beat it the happier it is!:thumbup: I'll post pics when my new grips show up.
 
I used to carry a Ruger GP-100 back in the day. Do these new semi auto .357's also fire .38 special like my revolver would?
