Ordered Esteem Grinder

I just got off the phone with Brett and ordered an Esteem grinder. Going with the KBAC-27 220V VFD with a platen, 8" contact wheel and arm, and one of Brett's double ended small wheel attachments. We are going to be in his general area over the Holiday's, so will pick it up then and save the freight.

Brett is a great guy. Answered all my questions and gave me some well thought out advice when it came to selecting things. He is obviously a very honest guy and I highly recommend anyone in the market for a grinder talk with him. I really like the direct drive aspect of his grinder.

Agreed! Brett is amazing. I dont have his grinder.....yet but I know my next grinder will be an Esteem.

Have any of you added the switch to run the grinder in reverse? Brett said some folks do it for sharpening.

I added both the power, and reversing switch, myself. Very easy to do.
Power switch added so I can actually turn off the vfd without unplugging it.
Reverse switch because I use a disc grinder attachment.
Enjoy your grinder. It's a smooth running machine.

Thanks for the info Jonathans. I am thinking I may add a disc grinder at some point, and running it off of the same VFD makes a lot of sense.

Anxious to pick up the grinder.

I have a KBAC-27D VFD with reversing switch. I added a 9" disc to my shop and simply added a a 3ph plug to the side of the VFD. I plug my disc into that.

I do hammered copper dishes and run my 2"x72" with a Scotchbrite belt to polish in reverse.

And I'll add my endorsement of Brett and his Esteem grinders too. I plumbed in all his air piping in his shop and have been friends with him for a couple years. He makes a great grinder.
