Oh that would have been AWESOME.
I waited to place my order until the Zytel Scales were in stock so I would not get skrude on international shipping costs.

Those black scales look pretty badass. You always see pics with the orange ones but these look so much better.
I am going to use those on a daily basis and use the orange ones when I venture into the woods and stuff.

I love my BK14, it is an excellent knife and will serve your purposes well. It is tough, strong and stays very sharp.

the BK14/11s are probably the most ''useful'' blades from BK&T...as far as amount of time they will be carried and how often they will be used. Tough lil bastids, dont let their size fool you. I was discussing this with my youngest nephew yesterday, he was asking about ''wilderness survival'' and what was needed...after I thought about it, I would not feel too bad at all about ''just'' having my 14 on me if I was stranded in the woods for a few days. I EDC mine and love it, you won't be disappointed.

pics? we're adding pics? LOL

The jimping is the best mod I have done to my 14...really improved the handling of the blade IMO

Nice. My 14 is way handy and cuts like a mofo after I convexed it. I like mine so much I just ordered an AZWelke sheath to pack it in. The factory sheath was dulling it too much for my liking.

Congrats on the new purchase, Indianblade. We demand pics when it arrives, in an appropriately manly setting. :D

The BK14 is an excellent first, congrats! Pix when you get it. It's a gateway Becker, don't fool yourself.

Thank you :0 I cant wait. Although I will not be attempting any mods just yet, how did you do the gimping?

Another thing I have a theoretical thought on.
The dulling because of the sheath; I think it can be solved with an oil or Vaseline soaked strip of leather forced along and into the edge part of the sheath. I might make a leather sheath myself for it, but I do think the strip will solve the problem. Unless its caused by a specific point close to the part of the sheath that clicks when knife is inserted or extracted.

I will be trying this and will let you all know how it turns out. I'd also like to hear any solutions that involve mods to the factory sheath itself. I wont be spending on a custom kydex sheath. And if my solutions don't work, I will be making a leather sheath for it too.

Love my BK14, probably the best practical Becker I own. I took a slightly different approach to adding scales. I modified a pair of Izula scales to fit. Really like this setup.
