Ordered my first Khukuri then...

It seems the audio portion of your videos is hosed. I could not listen due to the high pitched whining noise.

A word of caution: Please do not unscabbard or rescabbard your khukuri with your fingers over the edge side of it. The scabbards are made in two wooden halves held together by the leather covering. If the blade should slice thru the scabbard it will cut your fingers very badly. I don't want to see you get hurt. Test your khukuri well and hard now by chopping and side to side tests. All the houses warrantys only cover the blades for 20 days after reciept by you.

I wish I'd checked Blade Forums before I went on a khukuri-buying spree a couple years ago. I went with EGKH and KHHI because HI was temporarily out of stock. I haven't had any problems with the KHHI stuff, but one EGKH khukuri was a lemon. After a short time chopping with it, the bolster flew off, and the scales came loose, too (this is a full-tang khuk, not one with a traditional tang). I managed to save the handle, so the khuk still works, but the wood handle is bare where the bolster used to be. A second khukuri from EGKH has held up fine, along with all the KHHI pieces, but I won't buy from EGKH again. If I do go through another khuk spree, I'll go with HI. In-country (US) service and a nigh-unbeatable warranty? Yes, please.

Seeing as how I live only about 2 miles from HI in Reno I will almost certainly buy from them. Hope that I can pick up anything I bought to get a discount on the shipping in order to cover the local sales tax I will have to pay due to buying locally.
 
Hey,One of my freind suggested me to buy a khukuri from Nepal, after a hell of research a finally bought a khukuri from Gorkha Zone Khukuri House: http://www.gorkhakhukuri.com.np,, the khukuri is of awesome quality. The shipping cost and price was reasonable than other Khukuri house products. I contacted them and they responded me quickly. Thanks to this Forum for keeping me in the light
