I had posted several threads asking for some feedback, and I've been wrestling with this for over two month now (mainly blade size and steel). I'm going with a Krein XL Bushcraft. I've already got one of his Bushcrafts, but I've got big hands, so I've always wanted something a touch bigger.

It will be 4.5" blade, with a 4.875" handle, 3/16" CPM D2, full flat grind, skeletonized and tapered tang, with black and blue G10. Kydex pants w/ Tek-lok.

Mmmm! Now I just have to wait.

Here is a picture of a XL Bushcraft with a 4.125" blade:

So a nice upgrade in size! Hopefully this will be "the one". I'm trying to get my treo down pat, with this being the center piece, a farmer or Xti as a side kick, and a SFA or a Silky as the enforcer.

I decided to go with D2 since I'll be around water a lot, and an ultralight tang to keep the weight down.

I'm selling my current Bushcraft and another knife to fund this one, which was a hard decision as its been my main blade for a while, and it was a graduation gift... so this is going to be a reincarnation!

It's not to late to change some details of the knife... so I'm trying my best not to think about it!

Well, after my self imposed restriction on buying knives until May is over I have a few I am going to get the ball rolling on: An Axe from stomper and maybe a knife too, a utility dirk from Koyote, a HUGE ML (bday present to myself, happens to be in May), and a William Crump..... I think that covers the bases at the moment....oh...and I just discovered the new EDC Saex Prototype from Bark River...WOW, pricey...but Wow...might have to add one to the list down the line since I don't own a Bark River. I guess all of this defeats the purpose of not buying knives for a while and is not going to be cheap....I'm going to have to spead it out over time I think.

Man - talking like that, do you really think you can hold out for 28 d??????

That Krein looks like a perfect knife for the bush!

I've always wanted to handle one of those, they look great. Please post lots of pics when you get it! Mind if I ask what price range that fell into?

I have a Stomper and a Breeden coming. I need to slow down a bit, There is just no way I could use over a fourth of the knives that I already have. And it's a shame not to use such good steel. I won't even go into how many years that I could use a completely different knife every day without a repeat.:o
