There is a thread over in traditional that you must post in to purchase a BF knife this year. Just thought I would let everyone know, I know some guys hang out here and don't venture over there too much. Have a great weekend

Thank you. I wasn't aware of this and it sounds like the Buck knife I've been wanting to have for years.

Expanding details..... Two blade 301 Clip and sheepsfoot , with CPM 154 steel, N/S bolsters, SS liners, elk scales, scale pins.
But use Tin Sue's link and carefully read info. You must be a BF member with at least 30 posts. Going thru SK knives you will pay on ordering. You heavy bark scale guys will have to just hope and pray. Buck uses a lot of lighter elk scales.
Again read the info. so you won't get that 'what the hey' feeling. You must go and post on the Traditional forum to put your name in the hat. READ THE INFO. When everything is working a two week timer is set and when it rings it is over. You snooze you lose.

When they get done and start getting shipped (don't go on a hunger strike) someone start a Buck Forum thread with a picture of their knife. And everyone show what the one they got looks like. If so inclined reach out to our favorite overseas members to assist them.
Whatever SK is making remember this will likely be a 200+ order to Buck. He is handling $17,000 or more bucks (dollars) so everyone can get a custom special order 301, so even though it is pre-paid be kind. 300

Thanks for the heads up, guys. I posted in the thread, but I'm not really sure if shipping to the Netherlands is even an option. I guess we'll find out.

How long will the thread be open?

I do hope I score one of these!! The 301 is one of my favorite to edc.. And to have a fancy 301 would be a plus!!! John

I am in and I am hoping for one of the lighter colored ones.;)

Thanks for the heads up, been busy last few days and hadn’t checked in - after all the design polls I’d hate to miss out! OH

I am in favor of assisting our overseas members as well (assuming they will not ship overseas); however, this may take some coordination on our part as there is a limit of two knives per member.

I am excited about this knife. Sounds like it will be a great one to own.
They are talking about it being around 200 knives being ordered. The "Ill take one" postings only started yesterday at 10:45 am and there are already around 240 knives spoken for.
Might just hit 300+. I think it is great that this year it will be a Buck. Hopefully a trend.

Thank you SK Blades, Buck, The forum, and it's members. :):thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::)

Oh Good. I was just coming over to let you folks know.
300 is right. Please read the opening post in that thread.

Here is the description of the 2018 Forum knife:
A knife from the Buck Custom Shop:
  • A 2 Bladed Buck 301, Clip and Sheepsfoot on opposite ends of the knife.
  • Blade steel is CPM-154
  • Both blades have Full Flat Grind and long pulls.
  • Bolsters are plain NICKEL SILVER.
  • Handle material is ELK and this knife will have PINS.
  • Knife will have a tang stamp
  • It will come in a plain cardboard box.

I'm definitely in for this. I don't always get the forum knife every year, but this being the forum knife AND a custom Buck, no way I'm passing!

I doubt that shipping will be a problem. Considering that the 501 was nixed because some BF members overseas can't have a lock back knife and the price was to be under 100.00USD due to customs and import taxes that would have to be paid. Plus, SKBlades will be doing the shipping. Preston

Apparently overseas shipping is being considered and looks likely. Here's a quote from Knarfeng: "Steve was planning last night on how to set that up. So unless he hits a brick wall, I would say, "yes, there will be overseas shipping, but whatever it costs will be added onto the knife."

I only have one 301 the BG42 Ivory Micarta club knife ..and am really excited about this one ! Super steel, Elk, limited edition it is a no brainer to me. Icing on the Buck is the fact it's a real bargain. I plan to take it out of the plain box and put it in my pocket. I hope we get a leather pouch/sheath with it as I use mine on the club knife and like it. All my life I've used a small locking blade as my EDC and I got the club knife to try it out and I really like it. I hope I get dark gnarly Elk on mine!

I plan to get two. One to keep put up( I usually don't do the safe queen thing) and one to slip in my pocket.

I'm really looking forward to adding this to my small collection of traditional knives in modern steel. The 301 has long been a favorite of mine.

Yes! I am REALLY looking forward to carrying this in my watch pocket.
