Well today being March 8th, we are exactly 1 month away from the OKCA Oregon Knife show in Eugene. I heard that there is a great traditional knife presence there so I just took off work on Friday April 7th to drive down for the weekend. I will be making a pit stop somewhere in the Portland area on Friday at the Oregon Blade Maker 2x72 grinder company's new facility (they are in the process of moving) to buy a grinder! Then I'll be making my way down to Eugene, staying there Friday night and going to the show all day Saturday. Will probably leave saturday evening to make the drive back up to the Seattle area. Would love to meet up with anyone attending...

Wish I could go... it always looks like such a blast for traditional knife stuff! Gotta make the trek some time. Have fun Jimbo!

I'll be there at table U-3 (when I'm not wandering) next to my good friend Charlie C. at table U-2. He always has good stuff! This is a great show and there is a lot to see (severely understated).

Go to the right when you come in the main entrance and we are in the last row just as you turn the corner. We love to see our friends and talk knives!!

Why does Grants Pass, Oregon sound familiar? Hmmm...is that where Noveske is located?

You would be correct. Oregon is host to a lot of cool companies, and Noveske is no exception.

I might try to venture down to the show, it really is just an hour or so away from me.

Hear, hear!!
Come to the show!! You won't be able to see all the traditional knives in the two days - there are too many!!!!
We have so much fun, talking, going out for dinner, trading knives, telling knife stories. The highlight of my year!

Yes I didn't want to call you two out by name but someone told me that you have tables next to eachother every year and that alone sold me on the prospect months ago. This is going to be an absolute blast :)

I'm going to be heading on down that way for the show too. Bad thing is I don't have a booking at the weekly burlesque show that Sunday night. (Broadway Reveue) But I might bring a few swords down and do some swallowing.

Okay well you will probably be easy to spot :p

Looking forward to seeing all the OKCA beaver shield knives... I love my 38 harvester. This is a pic from right after giving the main blade a white vinegar boil

Do you have to be a member of the OKCA to attend the show?

The website says free entry for OKCA members, 8 dollars per day for non-members. 8 Dollars for a full day of fun sounded like a good deal to me after getting gouged all season at the ski lifts :D

I'll be there.

Again, someone I didn't want to call out by name. Karis told me you might but I didn't want to put you on the spot in case the plans were not finalized. You know I will be on the lookout for you, Mr. Bohn!!! :)
