Oregon Revisited!!

P.S. glad you are enjoying the pics, Ken.
I managed to make off with three customs also! A Ruple, a Davis, and a (an) Humenick.
Can't have enough of those Wharncliffe blades!

Terry kindly came by my table to warn me this one was coming out. I have the spear-blade mate to it! His knives sell out in 1 - 2 minutes every year!!!

Roy Humenick is an up and coming maker. Nice small Cokebottle, in traditional wood handles.

Charlie, have you seen many harness trappers, like your Davis? Usually they're a straight jack or a cigar (equal end)-- at least the ones I've seen.

I call it a curved Jack, Black M. But knives have many names.:D
I have an old Case Brothers like that, I believe. I'll have to see if I've got a picture.

Its always nice to see one of Terry Davis's knives.

What size is your Roy Humenick coke bottle? I really like the proportions on the knife, from the length of the bolster to the curves of the frame:thumbup:

And of course Bill Ruple's knives speak for themselves.

I like the way the punch blade must sit very low in the frame on Terry's knife and also wonder again about the lack of choil on the master. Some day I may be fortunate enough to meet Terry.

Ken

The Humenick Coke is 3 11/16", Ken. It is nicely proportioned indeed.
And here's Terry's knife closed, to see the low-lying punch.

Fantastic haul Charlie!! I don't think there is one knife there anybody would not want in their own collection. Including myself!! That must of been one heck of a weekend.

Thanks Rusty! There was lots to see there also. Here is a picture of Ron Edwards display. He must have the biggest collection of wood-handled Coke-bottle knives in the world. His display honors the dozens of long-gone cutleries in the state of Connecticut, showing a beautiful Coke from each one! And this is a small portion of his collection!!

The son of Ron Edwards wrote me to say thanks for posting his late father's Coke Bottle display all those years ago. I thought it'd be a nice trip back in time to say "you are welcome!", and to reminisce about the beloved Oregon Shows back then!!
Ron had a lot of those knives!! All Wood/Ebony!!:D

My pleasure, Marc!! It's nice to hear from you!!
