Hey Guys! mom is out of the hospital and doing good!
My question is, can anyone give me some info on diffrent organic handle materials? I am well versed in exotic woods, but what can you tell me about Bone, horn and Tusk? things like
Workabilty? what would you compare each to? How do diffrent species of bone differ (camel/ cow/ deer) what about horn? i see ram, buffalo and so on. What differences are there? Thanks a lot guys!

The main problem is smell. Little smells as bad as American buffalo. It is in the same league as desert ironwood. God help you if you work it inside and are married. It does have a good grip if you keep the fibrous exterior whole. As for tusk, remember that you can contact the same disease the host animal may have had like ensephalitis from elephant. You should always work some things outside with a good respirator. In fact, use a good respirator whatever you work. General workability for most of these materials is good. MOP is brittle so be very careful drilling or pinning.
