I have a couple of the original Para's, and remember when they were a lot of the Spydie guys favorites, mine included.
Now that we have the new kid on the block the Para ll, are there any of you fellas/gals still using your Para l ?
Just checking, thats all :D I feel like I'm not with the times :p
 
Funny that you mention it. I'm carrying my Para 1 with the old style jimping and Philips pocket clip screws today.
 
Still have my Para 1's but they don't get any pocket time now. The D2 will surely stay in the collection though.
 
I like the Para 1 quite a lot, still. I particularly wish the Para 2 had a SpyderEdge option (full serrated edge)...

That's,exactly what I've been carrying for awhile. My gray handled paramilitary got so dirty I decided to give it a rest.
 
If I were to buy a para it would be a para 1. Ive had a few and I really liked them. Im actually a fan of the pocket clip and slightly shorter blade.
 
Fantastic knife and the lock does not stick like on the Para 2 (my Para2) I use the "original" several times a week and will do as long as I live.
 
D2 Para is "the" one handed opening knife for me. Anything more, I get a fixed blade, anything less, out come the slipjoints.
 
I've always LOVED the original Para!! It's one of, if not my favorite Spyderco. I have a Para2 in M390 on the way......I will give it a go and check back in with this thread.

That has been my experience as well. In idle moments I've wondered why, but never enough to try to figure it out. :)
 
I still use my Para 1. I like the shorter balde. It's the smoothest opening and closing knife I own!

I have a Para1 that has a sticky lock......It's been back to Spyderco W/R twice. It came back both times with the lock unchanged.

I have a P2 but my digi-cam P1 is still my fav. I like the P2 but I don't think the Para model needed any changes and I like the overall blade-to-handle ratio of the P1 better so that's my usual carry when I want a Para.
 
I have a para I that I really like, it was my first Spyderco so I would never sell it. But I really like the para 2, it is such a nice knife.
 
I have a Para that is my EDC right now.It opens smooth as glass and is sharp as a razor.The only thing I don't like about it is the tip down carry.
