this is a YouTube video that tells the story of how and why the Buck 112 was introduced.

It may be old news to many, but it was interesting to me.

It's funny how a knife born of silly regulation and questionable reasoning is so well loved. Cant help but think a similar story today would be met with a different point of view.

Interesting Buck trivia.
I was in the fleet several years later and many of us carried 110's.
Thankfully the 3" blade length restriction didn't spread fleetwide.
Many of the guys cut the sheath flap off so the knife was easy to retrieve.
