Origins of Strider Knives

Good to hear that your only buddies in this thread are Rob and Vince. I mistook the "wanna be" who hides behind 45Shane1911 as your **** talking bud. Good to know you don't associate with 'wanna be's' like him. He's also the same guy who keeps posting that he'll ignore my threads, and that its the last thread, blah, blah, blah. "You know what, Shane45 1911, your flattering me again (wanna be). Keep on posting "wanna be".

Yes, I did (wrongly) attack RobertHankins, and then apologized. You are failing to recognize that I realized my mistake and made good on my comment. And then explained myself in detail.
Mick, this is your forum and I'm not (and have not) dis'd you at all. If this doesn't clear up what beef you think I have or what two times (twice I think you said) that I have talked smack....please let me know. I admire your work and respect you (and Duane) and your forum. I don't see how you think I'd come here starting it up with a man in his own forum? Who do you think I am....Wanna Be Shane 45?

I made the mistake of thinking this 'wanna be' Shane45 guy as your friend or bud. It is probably a good thing you don't associate with scum like this. As you can see he has taken every opportunity to post malicious crap after I've left a thread or post.

But he does associate with me. I am a consumer who buys his products, and uses them harder than you can ever dream. Get a life, grow up, and move on.

Calling someone scum would get them banned on any other forum that I moderate, by the way.

Only individuals embarrased of who they are make up names for themselves based on others work. Who's the kiss-ass, back peddler here, fako? How do you justify your name you rip-off. There are a few things you have written in previous posts that I disagree with and I think that might have been where your disagreement with others have started.

First of all, you are taking the product copying issue much lighter than most of us do. When a company copies an entire line of knives, not just makes the same style tips or handles, and even puts the original maker's name and logo on them, this is wrong. It's not a light matter and it is the original makers business what to do about it.

Although I agree with you that a person who would buy one of these cheap imitations is not really a Strider customer, it would be easier than you seem to think for someone to be tricked into buying one. The only Strider knives I have ever seen in real life have been my own. I go to gun and knife shows to try to find an extreme bargains. At the right time and place, you can find quality merchandise at very, very low prices. Now if someone had researched Strider knives on the net and then saw one that looked like the picture they had saw on Strider's website and even had the Strider name and logo on it, wouldn't it be reasonable to think that even an intelligent person might be tricked?

There is room for arguement about this issue up to the point when someone puts someone else's name on ther product. At that point, it is crystal clear that this practice is wrong.

The other issue is one that I had to learn myself sometime back. I, like you, used to wonder what difference it made to be a longtime member of a forum with several posts. It became clear to me after a few tongue lashings from other members that a long history is a good sign that a person has something to contribute. Not always the case, but usually. Trouble makers have a way of disappearing after a short while. You seem to have the intelligence and interests to be a constructive contributor to this forum.

I do not nor try to speak for Mick or Duane. They do just fine on their own. My only concern for getting involved in this at all is I know the Striderguys are very busy and it is a shame for them to be babysitting petty arguements instead of taking care of business.

Its a wonder I didnt get an immediate response in light of his quick responses to everything else. He was hovering over every other comment and was on it like pedophile on a 12 year old before.

I want to openly apologize to all in this forum who's time I've wasted with babbling and nonesense (Yes that includes you Shane45 1911 and Wolfmann, and no, I'm not kidding).
From the very beginning (of this thread) I was simply looking for Micks input to the original question. I never dis'd you Mick. Did my explanation make sense?

In this thread I simply asked M. Stider (or Duane for as far as that goes) for a simple brief low down on Strider Origins. Somehow it has been blown out of proportion. I had an idea that there were companies copying the Strider 'style' but no idea, the entire line and logo was being used. Your right in that sense and that is totally out of line. I have only been here a few months but watched and read this forum for several months before that and probably got more out of it then. Without being a member or having input.

What good is a forum without room for discussion and opinion. So in light of this, Yes Wolfmann, Communism is alive and well.
Opinions are like chairs, there's an ass for everyone of them.

Thanks for the advice. Caution your site is probably being hacked. Its a shame if fed. agents are behaving like this. Its a bigger shame and crime if one is representing himself as one and isn't.

I realize that my post would've been more appropriate at an earlier time and on a different thread. I was just trying to point out a few facts that are following you around on this forum.

One of my favorite things about this particular forum is that a person is respected here for standing up for what he believes in even if he is wrong. We respect a person for standing up for what he BELIEVES is right even if it may not be consistant with our own beliefs.

If you give respect here, you will get respect, even if your opinion is not the popular one. If you disrespect any or all of us, you will have a hard time here even if we agree with your opinion.

Ah jeeze,
I just got off another 6 weeks hard trip on the boat with no internet, log in to check what's up in the Forum, and see a thread with 35 replies "Origin of Strider Knives". "Oh cool" me thinks, I would really like to read this one for sure. With much anticipation, I wade thru 2 pages of posts from the "heavies" and come away with a bad taste in my mouth. Bummers. Fair enough, I'm only some shmuck with a safe full of knives and a yearning to learn more about guys who are way above my level knowledge, and what with living overseas, will never have a chance to meet, but gosh, can't you guys sort this out amongst yourselves instead of postings that come to naught and nill?
Ah well..I'll go away now, back to the Asian forum where we seem to get along a wee bit better.

Q, feel free to start another "origin of Strider knives" thread. I agree this thread has a lot of BS in it, and little to do with the topic at hand - and obviously I was responsible for a lot of the misdirection.

Your topic is still valid and I'm sure Mick will answer as time permits.
