Asked this in General Discussion a couple of days ago with little response so I thought I would ask here.

Anyone have experiences with Orion Knives? Look good for the price but I would defer to anyone with real knowledge on this line.

i would like to chime in on this request. i like the looks of their K2 Caper, but would like some feedback if anyone has one.

I bought a couple of the K2 Capers about a year ago.

One with G10 scales, one with stag scales.

The blades were nicely ground and pretty sharp out of the tube.
(Even before Great Eastern Cutlery, these folks shipped their knives in tubes.)

The fit and finish on the handles, though, left something to be desired.

The G10 did not match up real well with the full tang, and some epoxy was showing.
Looked amateurish.
The stag scales were not well matched; one is bigger than the other leading to an odd looking knife.

However, I bought both knives at an excellent price and did not pursue the issue with the manufacturer.

Neither of the knives gets any use.

For what its worth, I gave them a call today to see if they'd be at the Wolverine Knife Show here in MI in April. A very pleasant woman answered the phone "Reid Design".

I asked about the show and she hadn't heard of it. She was very interested and asked me for some information regarding the show dates and website. Sounds like they may be interested.

Anyway, I went back to the website and found a link to Reid Tool Design on their links page. Same address. Looks like they're CNC/machined/heat treated/polished in house from start to finish. No outside support for their blades.

If they show up at the Wolverine show I'll be able to get more info and see their stuff first hand. It's not 'til April so I'll try to remember dig up this post.

I've had a cord-wrapped K2 for a couple of years. It's a very good EDC - enough blade to handle a good range of tasks, but small enough to be really inconspicuous. I made up a kydex sheath for mine and use it as a necker. It's about the same size as the old Becker Necker, but a bit lighter in weight. It's one knife that I've never considered getting rid of.
