orishigane/wrought iron san mai

This blade is made from bloom (home made steel) from an orishigane smelt butt welded to some mild steel and then "san mai-ed" with iron. There's a cool effect where the mild steel shows

through the wrought iron in a few places.

The whole thing is a full triangle grind, from tail to tip. Liners are leather, scales are wenge, bolsters are iron. The price is $200 shipped.

the first picture is one of my hairs that I "whittled" a little. You can see the little curl that I shaved off without splitting it to demonstrate that it's sharp.
