This knife is made for general use with a really nice piece of osage orange for the handle which was given to me by my friend and fellow bladesmith Nate Runals. Osage has a certain subtlety to the grain which I find very attractive. Its also very dense and tough, as many of you know its often used for bows and fence posts. The striking yellow color will mature into deeper brown I am told. Hair popping sharp of course!

The sheath is veggie tanned leather treated with beeswax to stiffen it and repel moisture.

Materials:
1084
copper
osage
birch bark

OAL- 8 1/4"
Blade length- 3 3/4"

$195 + shipping

I prefer paypal, and my email is lukethebladesmith@yahoo.com. First to PM or email me gets it!

Thanks for looking!

Good stuff Luke, as usual. Looks really useful.

Folks, this guy makes some great stuff!! He's one of those guys that makes just a little jealous when you see his knives.

Well I still have it, however since it didn't sell as quickly as most things do, I have decided to keep it for myself, and recently took it on a rather long backpacking trip for some field testing. The finishes are as such no longer as new, and I would prefer not to sell it.

I can make another quite similar (but better) if you are interested!

By the way, your PMs are full, so I hope you see this :)

I have to say, I have looked at this knife almost every day since you posted it! I love the blade shape, I love osage and I love hidden tangs. Shooting you a PM with some questions and some slight mods, but I would love to have you make me one very similar to this knife!

My experience with Osage is that it turns an orangish-brown color, very unique color and about the hardest wood grown in Kentucky. A small piece tossed into a woodstove can really bump the BTU's through the roof. Beautiful knife you have there and nice choice of material.
